Creation: A Tendency of Human Being to Believe in Myths
Many thinkers and philosophers noter the tendency of the human beings to explain their existence as well as that of the world around them. All cultures have a version
of the creation story. Such versions describe some divine intervention
or an act of magic. Philosophers look at the creation narrated
in Genesis as one of many answers that people give to the question: "Where do we come from?"
Creation myths spring from the need to answer this difficult and perplexing question. They also spring from the tendency to create imaginary beings that give, at the same time, protection and hope.
