Human Origins The effort to explain human origins appears on several fronts:
-- Human beings came from monkeys, probably the chimpanzee, through the fusion of two chromosomes. This is the position of science today.
-- Human beings were created by God in His image and likeness. This is the position of creationists.
-- Human beings are the product and part of an intelligent design that is not necessarily conducted by the God of Abraham. This is the position of the group called Intelligent Designers.
-- Human beings, like all other forms of life on Earth, were not created on Earth, but came from outside, from other planets or galaxies.
